Built in 1926, this sprawling covered bazaar is downtown Yangon's best spot to browse jade, gems, silverwork, handwoven Chin textiles, lacquerware and Burmese handicrafts under one cobblestoned colonial roof. Entry is free, and you can easily spend an hour wandering even if you buy nothing. Bargaining is expected and the food stalls do excellent mohinga and samosa salad.
