Nanchan Temple & Nanchang Street Canal Lane

Nanchan Temple is a working Buddhist temple founded in 547 AD with a tall pagoda, and entry to the temple grounds is free. Right alongside it runs Nanchang Street, a 1.5km historic lane on the Grand Canal lined with snack stalls, teahouses, antique and bird-and-flower markets that turns into a lantern-lit promenade after dark. It is the easiest free way to soak up Wuxi's old Jiangnan water-town atmosphere.
