A grand Holkar-era palace set in landscaped gardens, modeled in part on European palaces with ornate ceilings, chandeliers, a hall of mirrors and replica Versailles-style gates. Now a government museum, it displays Holkar weaponry, coins, sculptures, textiles and rare paintings across opulent rooms. For roughly Rs 20 it's a richly atmospheric look at Indore's royal grandeur.
