About 26 km north of the city, this monument marks the equatorial line measured by the 18th-century French Geodesic Mission, where you can straddle the painted line with a foot in each hemisphere. The complex has a 30-meter monument with a viewing platform, plus plazas, exhibits and craft stalls. A fun, photo-worthy half-day for budget travelers.
